Maddie has dedicated 60 years to music, with 30 of those years spent teaching at Melody Mart. She instructs students aged 10 and up, specializing in Bb Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, and various saxophones, including soprano, alto, tenor, and bari saxophones.
Maddie's musical journey began at the age of 10, and she holds a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Ohio State University. Throughout her career, she has performed with ensembles such as the Chicago Heights Symphony.
Maddie’s teaching philosophy centers on being a positive influence at all times. She recognizes that each student is unique and tailors her teaching methods to meet individual needs. Her approach is designed to create a positive and engaging learning environment where students can thrive. Maddie teaches various music genres and encourages her students to come to lessons prepared with their books, instruments, and a good attitude.
One of Maddie’s most memorable moments at Melody Mart was when a former student returned to thank her, crediting Maddie’s guidance for her success. This experience underscores Maddie’s belief in the power of helping others through teaching. She is committed to ensuring that Melody Mart remains a place where students feel cared for and supported.
Outside of teaching, Maddie enjoys exploring resources like Rubank and the internet to stay informed and inspired. She values her time at Melody Mart and is always looking for ways to improve the teaching environment. Maddie takes great joy in her role at Melody Mart.
